MISSIONS

"Living life as mission to redeem Birmingham for the glory of God and the good of the city."

Our local missions philosophy embraces the concept that our members voluntarily come alongside ministries that are already doing things well.  We want people to use the gifts that God has given them to do ministry wherever their passion lies.  We believe as followers of Christ we are to “do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God.” (Micah 6:8)  We love and serve our community because God first loved and redeemed us.  We want to share our lives and the gospel with the people we care about. (1 Thessalonians 2:8)

GLOBAL MISSIONS

Missions is characterized by our commitment to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in love through works of mercy and evangelism in our immediate community and throughout the world.  During each mission trip, locally or internationally, we actively share Christ, disciple and train new believers, plant churches, and, where possible and culturally relevant, help to meet missionary and societal needs.

Cahaba Park Church sponsors short-term mission trips every year, including trips in support of the long-term partnerships we have established in foreign countries. Long-term partnerships are with missionaries and mission organizations, church and/or other organizations that have a fruitful, culturally relevant, and culturally sensitive on-going ministry presence in the cities or regions.

We also have an Orphan Care Ministry. This ministry was created to offer care and support to families interested and/or involved in adoption and foster care. For more information, contact Wellon Bridgers.

For more information about our global missions, contact Rev. Jamie Peterson.

"For me, it was incredibly valuable. For one, knowing that I’m not alone or crazy for thinking/feeling some of the things I think and feel was huge. In addition, I left each cohort energized and ready to return to the plant with fresh ideas."

"This time was very worthwhile. It was helpful to get out of my context to connect with other planters in the trenches of ministry! Thank you for this opportunity! This was very fruitful for me personally and professionally! I will forever be grateful for this time spent in the beautiful city of Birmingham."

We believe that church planting is the most effective way to reach people for Christ. To that end, Cahaba Park Church serves as a member of the Alabama Church Planting Network. Cahaba Park has also been involved in many church plants including Cross Creek Church in Hoover, AL in 2008 (with Covenant PCA) and Christ Church PCA in Trussville, AL in 2012 (with Briarwood PCA and Altadena Valley PCA).

We also minister to church planters around North America through our Cohort, a resource for equipping and training church planters. Each group of church planters comes to Birmingham for three days, three times a year for training and encouragement. Cahaba Park has ministered to over 27 church planters from 20 states in the U.S. and Canada!

By God’s grace, we hope to serve Christ’s Kingdom and further the Gospel by planting churches in Birmingham and throughout Alabama, our nation, and the world.
